The Job

Ink is the world’s leading producer of inflight magazines with over 25 titles in our portfolio. Our media channels reach half a billion passengers per year travelling to hundreds of destinations around the world. Our sales executives sell advertising space in our inflight magazines to businesses who benefit from attracting a large travelling audience. Most of our inflight magazines are published monthly, though some are bi-monthly or quarterly.

You 


You will manage the entire sales process to ensure delivery against key performance metrics, with a primary emphasis on the generation of new business along with account management of your clients. Successful sales executives need to be aware of changes in the market that impact their target audience. You will be dealing with buyers, directors and key decision makers - negotiating terms of contracts and closing deals with them on a daily basis. In addition you will also be:

  • Sourcing new leads on a daily basis and cold calling potential clients
  • Defining client needs, handling objections and negotiating
  • Building long term relationships with your clients businesses
  • Minimum of 10 effective calls every day
  • Some travel may be required

Ink, the world’s leading travel media company, is looking for a dynamic, creative and passionate Art Editor to join the new team on Vera magazine, in our head office in London.

 

At Ink, we produce award-winning travel magazines with a difference, so it’s vital that the candidate be a confident self-starter. They must be organised; willing to work as part of a small team; and ready to bring fresh ideas.

The role
- Work with the creative vision of the magazine; commission photo shoots, source images.
- Work with the Editor and Design Director in the planning and production of the title.
- Liaise with the client.
- Think creatively to deliver intriguing design solutions.
- Adhere to the deadlines and budgets set for the titles.
- Ensure that the work is of the highest standard.

 

Desired skills
- At least four years’ experience in a design senior role.
- Excellent knowledge of Creative Suite.

Ink is looking for a fresh new production controller for a busy and fast-paced production department.

Reporting to (and working closely with) the Production Manager, you will have responsibility for your own titles but will also work as part of a team in prioritising the demands of the business and supporting your colleagues as necessary. Working across a portfolio of magazines and digital assets, you should be able to manage multiple projects from outset to completion with an eye for detail.  

The role requires excellent time management, good interpersonal skills and would appeal to a self-starter who loves to work in a small close-knit team.

  • Liaise with clients to chase advertising copy, by phone and email and update database
  • Check advertising copy thoroughly
  • Ability to amend and design artwork for clients
  • Proof and check pages before going to press

Based out of Ink’s London office, the Editor will be fully responsible for creating a high-end, topical and aspirational monthly magazine in both English and Arabic.

The ideal candidate should have a killer instinct for strong, original stories with connections around the globe to cover the airline’s extensive route map in an inspiring way. Knowledge of Arabic is beneficial, experience with the cultural sensitivities of the region essential.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Successful account managing and closely liaising with the client on their marketing objectives, including regular trips to the Middle East
  • Creating an original story list and managing the production workflow efficiently
  • Producing the magazine on time and within budget to the full satisfaction of the client with the aim of winning more industry awards for the publication

Main purpose of the job:            

The purpose of this role is to support the senior finance team to ensure strong cash and balance sheet controls are in place and to assist in strengthening the Financial Control function.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing commissions calculations on a monthly basis.
  • Quarterly preparation of VAT returns, ECSL returns and other compliance.

  • Selling magazine advertising against agreed targets, and managing a number of key clients within the magazines.
