The Platinum List Awards goes live in New York City

By Celebrated Living editor Eric Newill

Everyone dreams about the perfect vacation—the luxury hotels, exquisite restaurants and memorable experiences—and American Airlines’ Celebrated Living magazine captures that ideal in every issue, showcasing the world’s best of the best in international luxury travel. Each year, we present our annual Platinum List Awards, which recognizes global leaders in high-end hospitality. Now, the issue is coming alive with a panel discussion featuring Platinum List experts and winners, to be held Friday, October 13, during the renowned New York City Wine & Food Festival.

For the first time, audience members will go inside the creation of the awards, hearing from the expert judges themselves how they chose their nominees. Winners will speak about the hospitality philosophies that led them to victory. And the entire panel will discuss trends in luxury travel, ranging from the influence of millennials and the emphasis on creating memories to the timeless qualities that have always engaged those who desire an elevated experience.

Participants include television host Samantha Brown of the Travel Channel and PBS; chef Maneet Chauhan, a judge on the Food Network’s Chopped and owner of the acclaimed Chauhan Ale & Masala House in Nashville, Tennessee; Fern Mallis, founder of New York Fashion Week and former executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America; Ralph Scamardella, corporate executive chef/partner of the Tao Group; and Michelin-starred Michael White, head chef and co-owner of the Altamarea Group, which operates Platinum List winner Ai Fiori.

As a magazine editor, it always fascinates me to hear from the innovators and creators who come up with ever more fantastic ways to delight their clientele, and this event will provide the audience with an opportunity to satisfy their own curiosity during the question-and-answer portion. It will also offer access to tastemakers whose worlds define the intersection of luxury travel, cuisine, fashion, media and hospitality.

Tickets are still available here and we hope you can come see the experts behind the world of luxury as Celebrated Living magazine comes to life in the heart of New York City.
