A surprising revelation from The Global Passenger Survey is just how late passengers will wait till booking accommodation. Nearly half of business passengers will wait till less than 7 days before booking their business accommodation. In the case of short breaks and city breaks, 33% will wait till less than a week to book their hotel, looking to get the best last minute deals that are advertised in the inflight magazine available within the month of their flight.

Main holidays see a longer planning cycle, but even here 31% of passengers will wait up to a month in advance before booking their holiday accommodation, with a view to seeing late deals and available tourism advertising in magazines.
