easyJet Traveller has named its 12 highlights of a year in travel. And yes, there is a cat café on there…

It’s been a busy year. One full of hidden gems, uncommon experiences and travel to write home about. We began it scoffing mind-boggling pastries in Paris and ended up cuddling cats in an Edinburgh café, in between times visiting the planet’s most Instagrammable hotel in Ibiza, drinking a foaming cocktail out of a bathtub in Tel Aviv and sitting on a commode designed for art connoisseurs in Malta.

There’s been so much good stuff packed into the last 365 days, in fact, that we’ve compiled the best bits to share in a special issue of easyJet Traveller, available throughout December on all easyJet flights.

Our editors and most trusted contributors got their heads together and flicked through their holiday snaps, to pick their favourite travel experiences of 2018. The 12 winners represent the coolest, craziest and most fun things you can do in Europe and beyond.

The #easyJetBestOf list is also a refreshing alternative to stuffy travel guides. They celebrate the real experiences that gave us goosebumps this year. And anyone can follow in our footsteps, and get just as pimply.

Enjoy yourself on your travels in 2019, and don’t forget to share your experiences – whether you’re ticking off our best-of list, or compiling your own.

Don't forget to look for and use our hashtag #easyJetBestOf. Inspired to travel to see any of our winners? You can book your flights on the easyJet website
