Ink’s easyJet Traveller magazine won a British Society of Magazine Editors Award last night when Simon Kurs was named Editor of the Year in the Branded Content Consumer category. This is the second award for easyJet Traveller Magazine in less than a week, and follows Rhapsody Magazine for United Airlines’ prestigious Gold Award at the Content Council’s Pearl Awards in New York last Wednesday.

BSME judges commented: “This title lifts the brand by association. One wanted to take it home to read all of it.”

Simon Kurs said: “I am both thrilled and humbled to be named Editor of the Year before my peers at such a prestigious event. This award come hot on the heels of the Travel Media Awards win last week, and I could not be more proud to be part of the great team at Ink. This double award win comes at the perfect time to help mark and celebrate our partner easyJet’s 20th anniversary in November.”

Michael Keating, CEO of Ink, said: “To have pulled off a hat-trick of awards on two continents in less than a week is quite wonderful for all of us here at Ink. We are very proud of the work we create with our partners, and it’s great to have the quality of our work recognised at the highest of levels.”

The shortlist at the BSME Awards was: Elsie Magazine, Forever Sports, N by Norwegian (also an Ink title); Sainsbury’s Magazine, and Waitrose Kitchen.
